Caitlin Maureen Scannell, 17, of Eden, arrived safely to heaven on Saturday, February 4, 2012, with a smile on her face.
She was born the daughter of Tim and Jelaine (née Erdman) Scannell on September 26, 1994, in Sheboygan, WI.
Caitlin was a junior at Campbellsport High School. She was ranked second in her class academically, was a Wisconsin Covenant student, and a member of the Youth Leadership Program of Fond du Lac.
Caitlin touched the lives of all the people she met. She was a member of Life Teen at Shepherd of the Hills Parish. In June 2010, she participated in a mission trip to Chattanooga, TN. She volunteered many hours of her time to her church and community, including Project Linus. She was an assistant coach for the Eden Fourth Grade Girls Basketball Team.
She loved sports and played varsity volleyball and varsity soccer for Campbellsport High School. She played on various volleyball club teams through the years, including Waupun Breakout and Ripon Riptide. Soccer club teams include Fondy Thunder, the Grafton Rangers, and the Plymouth Soccer Club.
She loved to travel and in the summer of 2011 she participated in a school Spanish trip to Costa Rica and a family vacation to the Grand Canyon, Texas, and New Mexico.
